I worked at Professional Tutors of America part-time
This company was awesome. The pay is great for part time, they provide you with assigned students in the areas of study you apply to teach, and they also provide you with the materials needed for teaching any subject. It is based off the students’ level. For example, if you have a 4th grader with a 3rd grade reading level, a 3rd grade reading handbook is provided for use. You call the parents to set up sessions each week based on your schedule and their availability. The company assists you with any questions you might have. You test the students after tutoring is over to see how much they improved.
I really don’t have any cons. Some kids listen better than others, but they’re kids so that was no surprise.
Advice to Management
Keep up the great work!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Professional Tutors of America.
Phone interview. Quick and easy. Questions weren't as pertinent to teaching as I thought. Mostly behavioral and availability. Very laidback if you're prepared. Easy and simple questions. Hiring requires personal cost - background check. Most of the paperwork is done online/email.
