Growing pains seems quite consistent reading the reviews, this is somewhat true but if you buy into the ethos and culture Proofpoint is a very good place to work. A lot of reviews here are by disgruntled sales folks and share a common theme among other sales folks in other organizations. If you’re good at selling you can do well at any company this is not exclusive to Proofpoint.
Moaning is concern, due to the growing pains our bar has been lowered to get numbers, this has introduced a moaning culture. Thankfully my team are positive and passionate about the product and don’t really tolerate the moaning army. (We instead vent then adapt/overcome)
If you are reading this review thinking about leaving your current employer to move to Proofpoint, leave your negativity and poor attitude at the door. Prepare for hard work, long days and reap the benefits.
Advice to Management
Slow down hiring managers, we need more individual contributors. Often managers have their own agenda that is not reflective of the common Proofpoint goal.
This is somewhat evident in new managers rather than the original Proofpointers.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Proofpoint (Sunnyvale, CA) in October 2017.
30 minute phone interview with hiring manager. Followed by an in person interview with 3 managers and potential co-worker. No feedback regarding job even after 1 week. I eventually realized no offer would be forthcoming.
