I have been working at Providence Health & Services full-time (More than a year)

    Highly mission-oriented organization
Excellent pay and benefits (based on system office experience)
Great opportunities for growth and development
Leaders in the Director/Manager levels trust and believe in their staff
The best work/life balance I've ever experienced in a company

Organizational strategy seems to be headed in the wrong direction
Executive leadership seems to be too focused on short-term
Cumbersome corporate structure that makes innovation and spread and adoption of best practices difficult
Communication throughout the organization is very poor

    Advice to Management

Innovate. In the words of Einstein, we can't solve problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. The healthcare industry is in a tough spot, but simply complaining about lack of reimbursement when you don't necessarily invest in the best ideas to begin with doesn't help anyone. Grow, merge, acquire is not a new approach and it is not the right approach when you don't have your house in order to begin with and it's leading to a poor culture for employees and moving away from Mission. Go back to the basics of providing quality healthcare and focus on prevention and building healthier communities as a way to reduce costs in a sustainable way rather than building up massive internal corporate structures then suddenly cutting all those jobs just to do the same thing again a couple years later. There are many, many highly Mission-driven folks with good ideas in the organization, use that knowledge and dedication.

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Providence Health & Services.

One virtual interview. It was a little awkward because it is one sided and you are talking to yourself. The questions are timed so you only have so much time to respond.
