I have been working at Prudent Publishing full-time (Less than a year)
Everyone is very friendly and relaxed. The dress-code can is very casual. The person who trained me is so nice and always helps me with any questions I have. It is a small company and you get to know a lot of people. The training was really good and I learned a lot of new things about Ai. Our trainer is very funny and always making us laugh. You get an hour break and then 2 paid 15 minutes breaks. They always have a lot of free food. I always feel good at work and feel comfortable. We get to listen to our music while we work. The owner is very nice and friendly and always has a smile. There are free yoga classes on some of the days. You get free greeting cards which are beautiful. They make a beautiful product. I've also made a few friends here that make work so much fun.
I sit next to the customer service people and hearing them talk on the phone sometimes make me distracted. I heard it's hard to get a permanent position.
Advice to Management
Continue being friendly and making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. I'm kind of young, but this is one of the best jobs I've had.
I applied online. I interviewed at Prudent Publishing (Ridgefield Park, NJ) in August 2017.
I received a phone call about 2.5 weeks after applying and was asked a few basic questions. We then scheduled an in-person interview. The company felt very relaxed and everyone was so friendly. I was first asked to do the computer test, which basically sees how well you know how to use illustrator when it comes to the responsibilities of a production artist. The instructions were very clear, but had to ask for clarification a few times since there are so many possibilities with Ai. The woman helping was so nice and friendly. This took about 45 minutes. I then did a written test right after. This consisted of technical questions regarding Ai. Not too hard if you know Ai and fundamental graphic design. I was then asked to fill out a paper application (not sure why since I already did that online). Then, I had an interview with the HR manager. She was very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. The questions were basic interview questions. I received a call back about 2 weeks later with a job offer and started a week and a half later.
