    Senior Water Supply Engineer Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Qatar Petroleum in September 2017.

Below is my feedback about the process and their interview:
    1. I applied online in Mid of September 2017.
    2. I received an email invitation asking me to be ready @ 1 PM on October 1, 2017 Qatar time which is still dark time in USA. However, I replied to the email asking if it could be postponed one or two hours, but no one got back to me only few hours before the interview to postponed only 1/2 hours.
    2. Two indians, you could tell easy by the ascent, start interviewing me without even introducing their name & title.
    3. I was asked to talk about my self at the first, so I started and in the middle of my talk one of them stopped me and arguing about my title in one of my previous job a Manufacturing Engineer/ Scientist. I tried to explain to him the role which is almost the same as a plant engineer role, but I got nothing to to with being Scientist and the same time I cannot put whatever title I like. Obviously, he did not even read my resume prior to the interview and start asking me question to prove himself as I am not Scientist. Questions such as what is water conductivities, TDS and TSS.
    4. Also, most of his question regarding potable water and I was answering him with respect to wastewater as I did not work in potable water before.
    5. They were both asking question mostly about that subject " fresh water" which not in my experiences and make me wonder why did they call me to begin with?!. I came wastewater experience.
    6. They should instead evaluate my skills, knowledge and see if its applicable to their need, but I guess they already reserve the position to someone they know.
    7. There was no any kind of respect in their behaviors during the interview which is of course does not comply with QP value as company.
    8. I insisted to ask them question at the end of the interview, even though, I was not giving the chance.
    9. My first question was : what is the prospective growth of this role. One of them replied to me as this is confidential and they cannot provide me with answers.
    10. Later on and within one week, I received the rejection email which I was expected. Thanks God that I will not be working under such person.

    Interview Questions

    • Mostly very stupid question which has nothing to do with the job nor addressing any value such as what is the name of your product, did you use potable water, what is the TSS of water, what is RCA?   4 Answers
