I worked at Quicken Loans full-time (More than a year)
-Amazing company culture. Very anti-corporate, all of my leaders had an open door policy, were typically willing to listen to me.
-Great income potential
-What you make is based on a blend of your natural talent and what you put into it. They give you the tools to be successful if you keep an open mind and are willing to learn.
-Team-oriented approach, great support systems in place.
-Hours. They're up front with you about how much you'll be working, so you shouldn't be shocked, but talking about it is very different than actually working 50-60 hours a week, typical 6 days out of 7. You can get burned out fast.
-Since it's sales, most of your income is based on your own performance. It's important to be aware of up front in case that's not for you ( I loved it)
-They have aggressive sales goals for you. Not unobtainable, and not unfair, but you've got to be willing to work hard and put in the hours.
-Sometimes the pressure to "put in the hours" can be pretty strong, even when you've worked past the point of efficiency. Typically not in your face, but definitely an "oh, you're leaving already?" vibe that can be off-putting.
Advice to Management
Lighten up on hours. I loved working there, and I really didn't want to leave, but it was too difficult for me to balance work and family, and when push came to shove I had to pick family.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Quicken Loans (Scottsdale, AZ) in October 2017.
Had a recruiter from Detroit reach out to me after putting information in a while back. We talked for about 25 minutes then she put me in touch with the Scottsdale recruiter since that is the location that I was interested in. Had about an hour phone call with her, going over past experience, skills, and behavioral type questions. She had me to do an online simulation which was a breeze then shortly afterwards scheduled me an interview. I had the in-person interview with the VP of sales and a sale manager at the Scottsdale location. Very easy-going interview and genuine management. They weren't hiding anything in what to expect from working at QL, which is often the contrary. We talked mainly about values and stories of my past experiences in sales. I didn't have to do a mock sales call like others mentioned having to do. It seemed more of a culture-fit interview than anything. I had my background check done which took almost 2 weeks total. Overall, a long process, but I'm excited to start working for this company.
