I have been working at Quomation Insurance Services full-time (More than 3 years)
Company hired a couple of senior devs that have very good experience. Coding practices/habits we use to do are being replaced by real industry standards. I used to think I was a pretty good self taught developer but I now know there is a lot more to learn. I'm glad these seniors devs came on board
I wouldn't be hired today if they were doing the interview. Quomation is looking for great developers who have years of experience. The other thing that has happened is code reviews. The last manager was totally hands off, never looked at my code - now it gets scrutinized pretty thoroughly. What i thought was great programming in the past is not today. little ego hit but I know this is going to help me get better
Advice to Management
I have appreciated the opportunity to grow my skill set and advance my career. Thank you for hiring real developers and forcing me to challenge myself more. Its been a great experience
I applied online. I interviewed at Quomation Insurance Services (Midvale, UT) in July 2014.
The interviews was low-stress. I think they just really need customer support reps so they can't really afford a lot of screening. It was just a one-on-one meeting with the Technical Support Manager and he asked very relaxed, get-to-know-you questions.
