I have been working at R.V. Kuhns full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Without getting carried away with the quality of work and the accolades the company has received, I’ve been astonished by the develop opportunities here. The support from each person creates a great team environment. The company has never shrunk and there are great opportunities to move up. I love the weekly opportunities to connect with different investment managers onsite for presentations.

    Cons

It’s challenging to identify a negative point. People skills are really important.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at R.V. Kuhns (Chicago, IL).

    Interview

I submitted a resume and pasted the email response I received below. All of my classmates were shocked that this company is so outrageously disrespectful of applicants. As you can see from the email below, the HR Manager asked all candidates who had applied to set aside 2 days, except they hadn't decided which candidates they would interview. This means that they asked applicants who they did not intend to interview to set aside two days, even though they "had not identified the specific candidates we would like to speak to." What ???? Seriously??? Since presumably they are going to have to read the submitted resumes at some point, why not ask only those candidates they intend to interview rather than wasting everyone's time who happened to apply?

    ******************************
    Dear [Applicant],

RVK is considering scheduling a series of interviews for selected candidates who have applied for the Associate Consultant position on August 14th and 15th in our offices. At this time we have not identified the specific candidates we would like to speak to on the 14th and 15th, but we wanted to alert you to our likely schedule and would ask you to let us know if you would be available on those dates.

Please let me know if you are available and if one day is better than another.

    Thank you,
    *******************************

Then they had the nerve to send a follow up email that stated not to contact them since they receive hundreds of resumes, even though they had no problem offering to waste two of my days. No problem, they made it clear they would not even bother to tell me they didn't intend to interview me. Here is the text of that professional email:

    *******************************
We receive a significant volume of applicants and cannot respond to each applicant individually. We review all entries and will contact only those candidates whose skills, experience, and qualifications meet our requirements for the position. Please do not contact us regarding the status of your application.

Thank you for your interest in R.V. Kuhns & Associates, Inc. Your email has been deleted.

    Sincerely,
    *******************************

Oh and by the way, I never heard from them about those two days in August they asked me to set aside. You can tell a lot about a company from the way it treats applicants and I would advise anyone to steer clear of this disaster.
