  • We had a little send off today for Chris Armstrong, our longtime Everett distribution center manager. Where's he going? After 14 years in Everett, Chris will be spearheading the operation of our brand new DC in Arlington, Texas opening this winter!

BENEFITS SUMMARY

JANUARY 1, 2016 – DECEMBER 31, 2016

 

Insurance Benefit Eligibility:

All regular employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours each week are eligible for benefits. Coverage will begin on the first of the month following 30 days from employment.      

Medical Insurance:

RANDYS Worldwide offers you a choice between three different medical plan through United Healthcare, supported by a very large network of medical care providers. This plan provides excellent coverage of preventive services, such as routine physical exams and immunizations that are very important to you and your family’s health. Prescription drug coverage is also included with the medical plan.

Dental Insurance:

RANDYS Worldwide provides comprehensive dental coverage through Metlife.  You may seek care from a participating dentist or any licensed dentist; however, if you use a Metlife Preferred Provider dentist, there are no claim forms necessary and dentists cannot charge you for any charges above usual, customary and reasonable (UCR) charges.

Vision Insurance:

To help you take care of your eyesight, RANDYS Worldwide provides vision care coverage through Vision Service Plan (VSP) vision carrier. VSP offers you access to a large network of doctors nationwide. You may choose to obtain your vision care services from any provider you wish. When you access care from network providers, your benefits are greater, and your out-of-pocket costs are less.

Flexible Spending Accounts:

IRS-regulated reimbursement accounts, also called Section 125 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), allow you to save by setting pre-tax money aside for use in paying approved expenses. RANDYS Worldwide makes three kinds of plans available

  • General Purpose Health FSA (available if on PPO Plan or waiving Medical)
  • Limited Purpose FSA (available If on HSA plan)
  • Dependent Care FSA.

The amount you designate will be deducted from your paycheck in equal amounts throughout the plan year.

Supplementary Benefits:

RANDYS Worldwide offers voluntary supplemental benefits through Assurant and Colonial Life.  The employee is responsible for 100% of the premium cost on a post-tax basis.  (i.e. Life, Accidental, Short Term Disability, Cancer, Hospital, & Critical Illness.)

Vacation/PTO:

Vacation Leave is intended to provide regular full time employees with periods of time away from work for relaxation, recreation or personal business, without loss of pay or benefits.  Regular full time employees will begin to accrue Vacation Leave the first day of work; however, will not be eligible to use any accrued Vacation Leave until completion of 90 days of continuous employment.  Accrual schedule starts at 2 weeks per year for full-time employees and increase based on the length of employment.


Personal Days off are additional days off that must be taken within the calendar year. Each full time employee will recieve upto 4 PTO days per year and are pro-rated based on start date.

Holidays:

 RANDYS Worldwide offer the following days as company holidays:

  • New Years Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving & the day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas

 

The company intends to continue these benefits, but reserves the right to change or discontinue these benefits at any time. RANDYS Worldwide, a supplier, manufacturer and distributor of performance and OE replacement driveline parts for domestic cars, SUVs and light-duty pickup trucks, has announced the acquisition of Zumbrota Bearing and Gear (ZBAG). With 30-plus years in the automotive aftermarket, ZBAG will be joining the RANDYS family of business units, including Yukon Gear & Axle, USA Standard Gear and Diff Wizard. ZBAG’s core business in remanufactured transfer cases, differentials, manual transmissions and related component parts complements RANDYS offerings to provide installers, wholesalers and consumers the widest selection of driveline parts to complete the “undercar” from front to rear. ZBAG, based in Minnesota, ships products nationwide for rebuilding and repair of light- and medium-duty vehicles. Cascade Component Parts Inc., a distributor of OE and aftermarket components, owned by ZBAG, also becomes part of the RANDYS family of brands.

“With two incredible performance and OE replacement brands and the Diff Wizard search portal under the RANDYS banner, we are excited to add Zumbrota Bearing and Gear to our family of driveline products. With the recent launch of Yukon Performance and USA Standard OE replacement driveshafts, we are now poised to be a more complete undercar leader in all driveline parts,” said Kevin Kaestner, president and CEO, RANDYS Worldwide. “Our interest in ZBAG stems from their commitment to providing quality remanufactured units and replacement products. These product offerings, supported by amazing customer service and technical industry expertise, will continue to build RANDYS Worldwide as a leader in undercar driveline products.”

With the acquisition of Zumbrota and Cascade, RANDYS now adds additional product coverage for transfer cases and manual transmissions to enhance its alignment with installer and performance automotive customers.

    I have been working at RANDYS Worldwide full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Day to day work can be rewarding
    Company sponsored BBQs in the summer
    Holiday party in the winter
    Thanksgiving lunch for all employees
    Can/will work around personal schedule if necessary
    Really seems like CEO *wants* employees to be happy

    Cons

    Relatively few recognized holidays
    Prices for benefits keep going up and coverage keeps going down
    High turnover in certain departments
    Certain team members seem more than willing to toss you under a bus
    CEO seems out of touch with aspects of standard employee (clarifying that he wants to make everyone happy but doesn't seem to recognize what they actually want)
    Certain managers expect you to know/do the job they've given to you without letting you know what is expected or how to do the job, great way to set up for failure - always get clarification!
    Lack of career prospects - lateral moves are common, upward are rare

    Advice to Management

    There are good, ready to work, employees in the company and there are some that just show up to do the bare minimum. Figure out which are which.
    Share more info with the team members, work with the guys to drive home the core values, don't just expect them to know them and fire them when they can't read your mind.

    Basic. Phone Screen, followed up by interview in person, then a shadow day, drug screen, wait for background, etc. Whole process approximately two weeks. Streamlined, easy. They have done it enough times, they should have it down by now.
