RFI specializes in the design, installation, maintenance and service of commercial and industrial state-of-the-art integrated Security / Life Safety Management Systems. These systems include Electronic Access Control, Closed-Circuit Television, Intrusion Detection, Alarm and Fire/Life Safety systems. Our monitoring center maintains and supports advanced systems engineered to deliver the dependability you require while providing the reliability necessary for vital functions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

RFI was established in 1979.  Since this time, RFI has grown into a multi-million dollar business specializing in various high-tech integrated systems, such as, security and access control, fire alarm and life safety, audio/video surveillance, and data/telephone communications.  RFI does business as RFI Communications and Security Systems, RFI Security, Inc., and our central station is branded as The Control Center.

The success of RFI may be attributed to two areas:  customers and employees.  RFI prides itself on maintaining long-lasting business relationships by providing the highest quality products and services.  And, RFI owes such accomplishments to its employees – for it’s the community of RFI employees who make this Company flourish.

    RFI provides a great opportunity for professional growth. Senior management is approachable, provides great communication and full transparency with their employees. I’ve always appreciated that they encourage to ask questions, discuss suggestions, address concerns with them at any time. The company takes great pride in investing in their employee’s growth by providing on the job training, and/or employee tuition assistance and creating opportunities of advancement in the company.     I applied online. I interviewed at RFI Comm. & Security Systems (San Jose, CA) in July 2017.


    1) Phone screen with HR lady
    2) Interview with Hiring Manager (CFO)
    3) Interview with "C" Suite members including CFO

    All people loved my throughout the interview process. It wasn't until the personality culture fit exam where they gave me the cold shoulder. I asked for a copy of the exam results and they ignored me. Not sure if it's required to do so but they refused to release the results.

    Interview Questions

    • Everyone was kind in the interviews. They have FOX NEWS playing in the lobby while waiting for your appointment which was rather daunting. i.e. "How can I ever work for someone with a FOX NEWS brainwashed mentality. That part was the scariest of all.
      They make you take a basic accounting principals written exam and then a 'Personality / Culture Examination' They won't tell you but I guess I failed the culture exam because after round 3 of interviews with the CEO and Board, they loved me but after the 'Culture Exam' I didn't hear back for a month. They did low ball the pay rate during discussion. In the end, I am happy that I wasn't selected. You see, my neighbor watches FOX NEWS religiously and we get into some heated arguments... I cannot imagine keeping my mouth shut when the CEO is of the same mindset. If you really want to work for them, learn how to cheat on the personality / culture fit exam.   3 Answers
