RJ Reynolds Tobacco Holdings – Why Work For Us?

undefined

We are leading the transformation of the tobacco industry. Transforming tobacco is a bold vision that we believe in and our journey is well under way.

Vision

At the RAI companies, everyone is committed to "innovation with a purpose."  Our vision is to achieve market leadership through the transformation of the tobacco industry by meeting emerging marketplace demands for innovative tobacco products while redefining how a tobacco company can help reduce the health impact of tobacco use.  This commitment is the right thing to do and will ultimately advance our commercial objectives.

Our companies’ innovations and the following focus areas will help bring us to a market leadership position...

Reducing harm via product portfolio development and assortment - Tobacco Harm Reduction is about reducing the risks faced by adult tobacco smokers by encouraging public health officials to provide accurate information and engaging legislators to institute regulatory policies that reflect the comparative risks between cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products.

Accelerating the decline in youth tobacco use - Minors should never use tobacco products. We support states' decisions to impose greater fines on retailers for selling to minors, as well as fines on minors that are found in possession of tobacco. We support and are expanding the “Right Decisions, Right Now” program, which is aimed at helping prevent tobacco use among youth. This program, available at no cost to youth leaders, educators and other adults, teaches young people how to make good decisions, including the decision to be tobacco-free.

Resolving these controversial issues related to the use of tobacco - More than 43 million American adults exercise their freedom of choice to smoke, despite many decades of declines in smoking rates. We believe that the use of tobacco products will not cease in the near term. We believe that innovations like digital vapor cigarettes, snus and nicotine gum, combined with efforts to reduce youth tobacco use can help resolve controversial issues related to tobacco use.

Culture

Our industry is no stranger to challenges and we welcome those who thrive on competition, seek to drive the business forward and give back to their communities.

Our products are made for adult consumers and we support youth tobacco prevention programs and initiatives on the job as well as in off-hours as employees.

We support the communities where our employees live and work.  In 2013, the Reynolds American group of companies, its private charitable foundations and our employees donated more than $7 million dollars to various higher education, life skills and community development charitable causes.  We give back financially, volunteer time and stay actively involved in helping people in need in our local communities.

At the RAI companies, career moves are welcomed and encouraged. Once you are in, know that we look across the organization frequently to drive cross-functional development opportunities. We have an abundance of roles-which provide great career flexibility. Within the RAI companies, your only limitations are those you set for yourself.

Join us at any one of our companies and make a positive impact in innovations for adult tobacco users, in local communities, and/or through our ground-breaking sustainability efforts. Believe us when we talk about innovation. We are not only transforming our companies, but have and will continue to lead transformation within our industry (see "Vision" section).
