Mission: To restore, sustain and enhance the health and developmental potential of children through excellence in care, education, research and advocacy

Rady Children's Hospital – Why Work For Us?

Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego is a nonprofit, 524-bed pediatric-care facility dedicated to excellence in care, research and teaching:

  • We are the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare and the region’s only designated pediatric trauma center.
  • In affiliation with the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, we are the region’s teaching hospital for the next generation of pediatric physicians.
  • We are a major pediatric clinical research center, working in collaboration with world-renowned institutions, including UC San Diego and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In October 2010, we opened our Acute Care Pavilion, making us the largest children’s hospital in California (based on admissions). The facility helps to ensure that we will never turn a child away because our beds are filled.

Parents and children come to Rady Children’s from across the country to see our nationally renowned physicians, and our focus on research, teaching and innovation is helping our patients to receive state-of-the-art care.

We believe equally in keeping children well. Through our Center for Healthier Communities and the Chadwick Center for Children and Families, we offer families the promise of a healthier future.

Our Vision

We will be a leader, recognized nationally and internationally, for excellence in patient care, education, research and advocacy.

The Culture at Rady Children’s

Rady Children’s is a place where everyone CARES about everyone else. That doesn’t just mean we dedicate ourselves to our patients and their families, though of course, that’s a big part of it. What it truly means is that our intentions and actions converge to answer this essential question: How can I make things better for those around me?

In fact, we are so big on caring, that’s our service excellence promise. To provide service that reflects our CARES values:

  • Compassion
  • Accountability
  • Respect
  • Excellence
  • Service

When you care about your career as much as you care about kids.

Since Rady Children’s first opened its doors in 1954, our mission has been “to restore, sustain and enhance the health and developmental potential of children through excellence in care, education, research and advocacy.” Our goal is to help create a region where all children can go to school healthy and ready to learn how to be productive, responsible citizens. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders.

It's not just caring about children that makes our staff so special. It's the magic. Our dedication to specialized training and sensitivity is perfected by caring for children 100 percent of the time. Rady Children's Hospital is designed, equipped and staffed just for kids. As the region's only pediatric trauma center, we care for children with the most severe medical emergencies to those with mild illnesses.

I have been working at Rady Children's Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

Great people who all support each other. Good pay, many benefit options, and generous time off.

Money is always tight so systems are sometimes lacking and the furniture and office equipment is older. Note this is a non-profit hospital however, who never turns away a child.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the communication, thank you for listening to employees when change is needed.
