    Pros

I really love working at Ranker! Everyone is really smart, success driven, and supportive of each other. I feel encouraged to be creative and love that everyone has the opportunity to work on things that interest them personally. From what I’ve seen, people who do well here focus on their work and being a part of the team.

    Cons

An office space that seems to be feeling smaller, but that’s only because we’re growing fast, which is a good problem to have!

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ranker.

    Interview

After applying to three different jobs with the company I finally got a response by applying to the one I was most overqualified for and by making my resume as "quirky" as possible.

Took a timed editing test and a social media framing test (despite it not being a part of the job). Was offered a phone interview that was fine, but a lot of emphasis on what niche areas of knowledge I have.

Was offered in-person interview which involved senior editors, social media staff, and the head of the content team. Everyone was fairly young, though that's the norm in digital media.

Had an offer within three days but it was far below other offers I've had in digital media. I negotiated a bit, but still took a pay cut and thought maybe it would be worth it for a new experience.
