Today, our purpose to Solve Great Challenges is bold and authentic; it keeps us grounded in markets that have meaning, provide profitable growth, and align with our values. We are focused on these Great Challenges:
Today, Raven is organized into three business units. We embrace an integrated approach, where all operations support each other, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Raven Applied Technology delivers impactful technology to growers and custom applicators around the world. Deeply committed to feeding a growing world population, Raven develops precision agriculture products that promote environmental stewardship, allowing farmers to grow more with less.
Raven Engineered Films provides high-quality flexible films and sheeting that solve demanding containment challenges in the field. With a focus on protecting Earth's resources and preserving asset value, Raven develops lighter, stronger film and sheeting solutions that integrate sustainable environmental design practices for long-range performance.
Raven Aerostar shapes the stratospheric platform market with the world's most advanced and reliable lighter-than-air technologies. Over the course of more than 60 years, our stratospheric design and development have made long-duration missions in the stratosphere possible.
For over 60 years, collaboration, creative thinking, and problem solving have been woven into all that we do. While Raven is organized into distinct business units, our team members work together as One Raven.
What makes Raven a great place to work? Our people, and the values we share. From the top down, Raven's leadership sets the tone for our culture — living our values each day. We believe in collaboration, accountability, and always striving to improve. Our team members work hard together, and they have fun together. As a service-oriented organization, we serve and support one another, and we serve the communities in which we operate. Above all, our team members care about one another — and we care about them.
Raven has always been a lean organization that wins by being nimble, making courageous decisions, doing the right things, and pitching in on whatever needs to be done. Our team members embrace and strive to uphold our values each day. These long-held principles have guided the company for decades, from the strategic development of our business to the daily actions of our team members.
It's our strategy to aggressively compete on four Dimensions of Competition: Quality, Service, Innovation, and Peak Performance. Deeply connected to our culture and values, Raven's four Dimensions of Competition are the foundation on which we separate our company from the competition. These are not initiatives that come and go; they are enduring values — and a testament to our commitment to continual improvement.
Our Dimensions are woven into every aspect of our businesses, and the results are easily seen in our day-to-day life at Raven.
We believe each team member should have the opportunity to perform to one’s full potential. Experience has shown us that when we do it allows us to better serve our customers, our communities, our fellow team members, and ourselves. As an employer, we believe it is our responsibility to help our team members find opportunities for continuous improvement and ongoing success.
Raven U is a one-stop shop to discover the available training and development opportunities available to Raven team members. Raven U offers numerous educational classes, programs, and activities that focus on leadership development, functional skills, compliance, volunteerism, and personal development of our mind, body, and purpose.
Beyond our own offerings, team members have the opportunity and are encouraged to participate in training and development activities outside of Raven. Whether it is a sponsored leadership program or a financial training course, several team members are involved in non-Raven program and trainings.
Knowing time can be a barrier to accomplishing personal and professional development goals, Raven offers the gift of time to team members. Each year, team members receive 12 hours of paid Peak Time to use to assist with and encourage an exploration of techniques to improve one’s mind, body, and spirit. Team members use this time to explore Raven resources, engage in a stretch activity, or embrace a healthy lifestyle change.

Our robust program offers business learning sessions, connects interns across the company, and pairs each intern with both a supervisor and a Raven mentor for guidance and support.
Over the course of the summer, our interns meet weekly to hear from a Raven leader on a range of topics designed to increase business acumen, deepen knowledge and understanding of Raven values, and prepare for upcoming job opportunities.
Raven interns do real work, collaborating with our full-time team members as well with as one another. From the very first day, our interns come together for onboarding, orientation, and tours of our facilities. We also host social events for our interns to get to know one another, strengthening their relationships. We have interns across the company, which means they're located across the U.S. and beyond. For our satellite team members, we use powerful online collaboration and presentation tools that enhance visibility and communication.
Raven interns are assigned both a supervisor and a mentor when they arrive. Throughout the internship, the intern's supervisor and mentor guide projects, immerse interns in the Raven culture, and provide meaningful feedback and guidance.

I have been working at Raven Industries full-time (More than 5 years)
Never have I worked for a company that is truly interested in growing its team members. Personally I have worked for 26 different companies in my life, and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Raven ranks up there with the best of those. 5 years ago I started as a team member, worked in a couple of divisions, and multiple areas within each. Utilizing free resources like Raven U I studied leadership, worked hard and became a production lead, then a couple of years later a production supervisor.
Okay, so why am I telling you my story? I am trying to convey that those whom are willing to put in the effort will not only be rewarded, but supported the whole way.
The culture is ever moving towards positive and collaborative atmosphere. Dropping walls/barriers between areas or even divisions to promote a companywide unity to solving those great challenges.
With being a customer driven industry can mean being unexpectedly busier or less so then anticipated.
Advice to Management
Every business has its challenges, and can make wrong decisions. I firmly believe that is not the mistake warrants attention, but how it is resolved. I really feel their has been positive strides the last couple of years towards a stronger and more resilient Raven.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Raven Industries.
Was very laid back and comfortable. Some technical questions (like expected) but were very patient and keen to see problem-solving methods rather than the correct answer. I liked that there was a lot of emphasis on non-technical questions relating to the person. Was able to let them know if I didn't know something, I would be able and willing to learn it.
