Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

      The first stages were great, moved really fast and never had to wait longer than the next day for feedback, the recruitment lead was fantastic. It was down to myself and 1 other candidate for the QBR. The feedback I got was very limited with 2 negative points mentioned, one which the talent lead acknowledged was just down to nerves. I was told otherwise that 'everyone really liked me' and they knew I 'could do the job'. I was told 'it wasn't a yes but it wasn't a no', the HM would be going on leave for 2 weeks and they would continue their search until she returned before getting back in contact. Apparently both myself and the other candidate received the same feedback. I can see the position has been reposted now for the 3rd time so I would urge people not to bother as clearly Reachdesk don't value individuals time nor effort.
