We are starting performance reviews and I am working on my self-evaluation. I was out on parental leave for the first 3 months of the year and then another month recently on FMLA/bereavement when my father was dying. My work is project-based and between being out and a number of leadership changes and associated reprioritization I didn’t finish many projects this year. I will talk about the reprioritization but is there a way to talk about my leaves without seeming like I am making excuses?
