I worked at Reed Exhibitions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people here work really well together. Everyone across the organization is highly collaborative in making sure each event is a hit! I enjoyed the people I worked with and there’s a real feeling of family at Reed. I was impressed by how much they are willing to work with employees on finding the right role for them within the organization based on their personal goals and career interests. As a working mother, I appreciated the flexibility afforded me to attend to family matters and the ability to work from home when needed.

The President of the Americas is such a transformational leader. He strives to fully develop the leadership potential of others within the organization. He is a very smart businessman who knows the industry well yet he is always looking to learn from others across the organization. He is kind, humble and always willing to help employees grow personally and professionally. His open door policy and visibility in the office have earned him the reputation for being friendly and approachable.

    Cons

Sometimes there is resistance to change from employees that have become accustomed to things being done a certain way. This was frustrating at times, but I know they are continuously working on improving processes in order to keep up with times.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Reed Exhibitions (Norwalk, CT) in January 2011.

    Interview

Reed hires slowly. You will have to go through at least 5 interviews before an offer is presented or you hear back from them. HR is knowledgable and courteous. Expect to be brought into the office 2-4 times for separate interviews. Research the company, the trade show industry and their individual portfolio of shows on their corporate site before interviewing.

    Interview Questions

    • Give a solid example of an accomplishment you are particularly proud of and how you went about solving a difficult problem.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Flexible on vacation. Ask for 3 weeks.
