I worked at Relativity Media full-time (More than 5 years)
Great colleagues who have tons of experience and are willing to teach you the film business, production, financing and distribution.
Mismanagement starts at top. Many lower executives do not get the credit/promotion they deserve. Too much turnover in company which shows instability at top.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Relativity Media (Los Angeles, CA) in August 2016.
Met with the current assistant, then the director I would be supporting. The two people I met with were extremely friendly and helpful describing the position and answering any questions I had. After meeting with people in the department I was offered the job and a certain rate and asked for a bump in salary. HR was completely useless. They went through 2 days of salary negotiations, called and told me the highest number they were allowed to give and I accepted. After a week with no communication I was told that they were no longer able to extend an offer because of the requested bump in pay. HR is now denying that an offer was ever extended, even though the phone conversation with them I said I accepted the job and was told the department would be so excited to have me on board. Worst part is they knew I had another job offer on the table and I said I declined that job for them. HR is just covering themselves by saying no offer was extended. They should be ashamed. But in the end, guess I dodged a bullet bc if I see this from the outside who knows how the company is truly run.
