Resolution – Why Work With Us?

We take the mantra of “Masters of Craft, Resolute in Practice”, as a full service media agency for high-growth, future-focused clients. We take the best Performance-based experts and capabilities, underpin them with Omnicom’s clout and resources, and amplify them with Omni, our holistic marketing operating system, to present full-funnel, 360-degree media and marketing solutions for tomorrow’s business leaders.

As Agency of Record or as Activation Specialists, we work with over 35 clients across diverse verticals. Our goal is to help our clients gain market share, capture audiences and bring forth innovation by measuring and tracking all forms of media to infuse investment in what’s working, deprioritize what’s not and test into new spaces. We take the approach that All Media is Performance Media to help our partners manifest the change today they’ll need for tomorrow.

Craig Ellis, President

As President of Resolution, Craig is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the agency and continuing to evolve Resolution’s performance marketing capabilities. Craig’s expertise shines in attracting, developing and retaining the best talent and ensuring clients receive the optimum marketing solutions to drive their business forward. In less than a year with Craig at the helm, Resolution has achieved outstanding results in attracting new business, growing current client business and revamping Resolution’s philosophy, positioning and branding.

Before joining Resolution, Craig served as Global Chief Operations Officer at IPG Mediabrands’ Reprise Digital in New York. At Reprise, Craig launched the integration of three digital agencies, overseeing the agency’s expansion from a search-only specialist business to a 40+ country global performance marketing network. Prior to Reprise, Craig was the Managing Director at ADP Group, a disruptor to the previously CPM reliant digital landscape where he pioneered digital performance marketing solutions for clients such as DELL, American Express, Citibank, HSBC, Hertz, and Qantas.

Jonavan Smith, SVP Finance

With over 15 years of financial management experience, Jonavan is a seasoned decision maker and an expert in ensuring Resolution maximizes opportunities and sustains business growth. As SVP of Finance, Jonavan wears many hats as he oversees and directs the financial strategy and integrated operations for the entire organization. Jonavan manages annual billings for top global brands and orchestrates unique financial models, which has helped yield 6X the growth since coming on board to the agency in 2010.

Leveraging his expertise in data analysis and strategic business planning, Jonavan collaborates with leaders from Omnicom Media Group to define and execute all finance-related initiatives and plan for future growth, including budgeting, corporate reporting, forecasting and strategic planning. Prior to joining Resolution, Jonavan led portfolio accounting at Waterton Residential. He also spent five years at Ernst & Young, where he planned and executed financial operations audit for public and private companies in the manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and real estate industries

Jeff Campbell, Managing Director Southeast

Jeff Campbell has been with Resolution Media since its foundation in 2003, immersing himself in nearly all aspects of the company’s operations. Currently, he oversees client service and operations for the Chicago and Charlotte offices. Jeff has a passion for online marketing and SEO solutions for the retail vertical and is focused on strategy development, media integration, measuring online to offline sales impact and web analytics.

Prior to Resolution, Jeff was with Mosaic Data Solutions, a direct marketing agency in Evanston, IL. He co-founded their Paid Search offering and managed several Fortune 500 campaigns.

Jeff gained traditional marketing experience with Sprint PCS Business Development where he worked to launch new products and was involved in all aspects of marketing planning, including pricing strategy, product development, retail distribution, advertising and promotional strategy.

Jeff graduated from Drake University with honors and dual majors in Marketing and Management. He lives in Charlotte with his wife and two children. In his spare time, Jeff is an outdoor junkie and manages a blog reviewing wines under $15. He is also active in his community – from volunteering at the local Ronald McDonald House to coaching an undefeated t-ball team (where they don’t yet keep score).

I have been working at Resolution full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have some great clients and the work is very engaging. I work directly with senior leaders who are very smart and know their craft well. They are interested in making sure you are learning and happy to work there. My team is small and support one another. We have very strong leadership from the top and we feel that they are invested in the people working here.

    Cons

Some cons to being a part of Omnicom. It's a large and slow organization but has strong network of clients. Some times life/work balance can be difficult

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you are doing. Do more to make sure your people are engaged and are growing their skills.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Resolution (New York, NY) in September 2018.

    Interview

My first interview was in person, where I briefly got to introduce my current role and future interests in SEO. In addition to introducing myself, the Associate Director of the team told me more about the team, the position and what is expected of the position. A week later I was contacted for a second interview. I met with a former member of the Search team as well as the SEO Supervisor for the team. In addition to being asked about my previous experience and future interests, I was asked questions more specific to my SEO, technical, communications skills... etc. The next day I got an offer.
