Rhino Camera Gear – Why Work For Us?

It's been a crazy journey. Here's the short version.

We're a team of passionate filmmakers and engineers that will stop at nothing to build the finest, most intuitive camera gear on earth.

We love gear, life, and beer. If you're ever in town, drop us a line and let's grab a brew.

What drives us

At the end of the day, we love seeing filmmakers create amazing stories with Rhino gear. We strive to create gear thatis easy to master so you can spend more time telling your stories and less worrying about your tools.

How it Started

In 2011 we launched our first product, Rhino Steady on Kickstarter. Back then, we had a dream to create easy to use filmmaking products but had no customers and no company (oh, we also had a blue cartoon Rhino for a logo). A little over a month later, we had our first customers and almost $80,000 to build a few hundred stabilizers and prototype for a new idea, Rhino Slider.

Redefining an industry

Before we launched Rhino Slider in 2012, most camera sliders were heavy, noisy, and cost more than your camera. Rhino Slider marked the first professional slider that was designed for the modern filmmaker that left room in your budget for more glass.

After launching Rhino Slider, we found an amazing community of filmmakers that aligned with our mission perfectly, our customers. They have been behind us through every success and failure. Without them, we wouldn't exist.

Redefining motion

Hand-pushing your slider was a great way to get movement in your videos, but we realized that if you could control your motion with a motor the creative potential is limitless.

We launched Rhino Motion in 2015. It allowed you to shoot both real time moves and time-lapses without changing motors. It also had a built in battery that powered it for a full day of shooting.

Shortly after launching Rhino Motion we released Rhino Arc (ask us the story of Rhino Parallax sometime over a beer). Rhino Arc allows you to easily pan as you move down the track. It was another game-changer for us and has allowed us to keep developing the future of motion control.

What's next?

Well, that's always a secret, but we're always pushing to make more intuitive, beautiful, technologically ass-kicking gear. If you want to reach out with suggestions or comments, shoot us a note at and let us know what you're thinking.

Our team is constantly growing and if you love filmmaking and electronics or product design, we want to hear from you. Reach out at if you are interested in joining the team. Cheers!

We're a small tight nit team that feels like a family. If you're used to working for a giant company like Microsft or Apple you might have a hard time fitting in. But, if you are interested in directly launching customer facing features Rhino is the place for you. Everyone on the team has a very specific role that makes a big impact on the customer experience. Whether you're writing code or developing hardware, your work will be seen first hand by Rhino fans around the world. That's what gets us up in the morning.

Work Hard, Play Hard

We love the work we do at Rhino. We get to create tools that filmmakers use to tell amazing stories. It's a pretty cool role.

We're all equally bought in to the work we do. If one of us doesn't complete the firmware, hardware, or app the whole product doesn't work. Becuase of that we push hard to get a product or feature released. The satisfacation comes when we all look back and see what we accomplished and get to celebrate it.
