I worked at Ring Container Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)
You get to learn a lot on the production floor side. In the time I was there I was promoted a couple times and with each promotion is a significant pay increase. It's a good company to work for and to learn from within. If you're willing and driven to succeed and move up, management will do what they can to help you. My managers were some of the best people you could get to work with and work for.
Turn over rate was high. Training new people constantly puts strain and stress on senior employees and makes the everyday workload much more difficult.
Advice to Management
Pay more attention to the floor. A lot of the problems with machines or people would be better addressed if you were more involved and listened to the people that run the floor everyday.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ring Container Technologies (Rapid City, SD) in April 2014.
The interview process started with an email to the engineer at the company with my resume attached. Then a few days later he called me and we had a short phone interview and set up a time we could meet at the school in Rapid City to have a face to face interview. This interview went well and then a few days later the plant manager called to set up an onsite interview in which i had a tour of the facility and also the interview with the plant manager. After this there was a few days then a call to ask if I would like to take the position.
