undefined

RiseSmart offers outplacement services that are better, smarter, and faster than the rest – delivering greater value for better savings than those of outdated, traditional offerings.

Our story is far from over yet. We invite you to be part of it.

THE RISESMART STORY

It starts with Sanjay Sathe looking for a new job and getting frustrated – really frustrated – with the available job sources and career tools. There had to be an easier way, he thought, to sift through all the jobs listed online and find the ones that fit his skills and experience.

From that frustration came inspiration. Whereas traditional outplacement offerings tend to focus more on helping laid-off employees cope with being jobless, RiseSmart helps those employees turn a setback into an opportunity by giving them relevant job leads and expediting the job search process to move their careers forward. And guess what? Traditional outplacement companies are still living in the past.

Taking Care of Business

Sanjay and company co-founder Dan Davenport started out working in coffee shops and even moved into a modest first office inside a warehouse to get the company going in 2007. A year later they were in Silicon Valley, and along came investors who believed in their idea: a mix of individualized, personal service backed by the latest technology could help people find new work much faster and at a lower cost to their former employers than more traditional approaches.

RiseSmart’s original next-generation outplacement solution, Transition Concierge, followed by its latest innovations in RiseSmart Spotlight, have helped us achieve impressive growth. We’ve grown our revenues and our team while adding an impressive roster of new companies to our list of customers. We are proud to call our customers a great mix of small and medium enterprises and Fortune 500 companies. Every one of the companies that has become a RiseSmart customer is still a RiseSmart customer. We have also earned a 9+ out of 10 customer satisfaction score across thousands of RiseSmart participants.

We Are Family

Amid this growth, RiseSmart hasn’t forgotten how important it is to be a great place to work. Sanjay and the management team continue to commit themselves with passion and determination to RiseSmart and its employees. Not only do we win awards for innovation, but we are also frequently recognized as employer of choice. In fact, RiseSmart has been named one of the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and San Francisco Business Times three years in a row.

Welcome to the Revolution

RiseSmart has had an amazing beginning, but our story is far from over. Now we’re taking our reinvention of the outplacement industry to the next level with even more powerful technology and services to make outplacement a benefit for companies and their transitioning employees alike. We want to be the undisputed leader in career transition, and we’re making it happen.

We're all about career empowerment. We build applications for Fortune 1000 companies that enable their employees to manage their own careers, and we encourage RiseSmarters to do the same.

Our culture is inclusive, fun, creative, collaborative, and respectful. We value the unique makeup of our team, and innovation is expected of all of us. We work hard and publicly honor each other's contributions. You should also know we're a fun group of pranksters (no one is safe!), we genuinely enjoy our work and we socialize at frequent happy hours and company potlucks.

We've been named one of the Bay Area's best companies to work for – three years running – and we attract talented, passionate people from all over the world. We have disrupted the outplacement industry and continue to innovate in helping put people back to work fast.

If you're ready to help us become the undisputed leader in career empowerment, join us!

    Localization Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Jose, CA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at RiseSmart (San Jose, CA) in September 2017.

    Interview

Friendly people, had an initial interview with recruiter and then with a person who would be a peer followed up with in house interviews with different people, some in person, some via Zoom. Everything went well in my opinion but then I have to continue the interview process with more phone interviews with someone who did not make the call the expected day. I think it is very rude to leave the person waiting and waiting and not explanation until I contacted the recruiter and also directly sent an email to the interviewer. They both apologized and as excuse said it was not accepted in the calendar for some reason. Then the same interview was re-scheduled for the following week but suddenly half an hour before got the message that the person was sick and that they were anyways busy with other interviewees. At this point I found that very ackward and that was a way to tell me I was not a desirable candidate. Then I asked the recruiter for a follow up the next week and I got an email with a 'we choose another candidate' canned message. I was very disappointed since this is after all a Human Capital kind of company and you would expect more 'human touch' in the interactions. They work in Outplacement but they left the very candidates without clue of what they did wrong.
