I worked at Roger Williams Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)
Good teaching hospital, the nicest people, easy parking. Friendly. Good care by the nurses. Decent pay, friendly doctors. Good place for New nurses.
Very poor management. Favoritism. Unfair treatment by those not qualified to be in mangament.. unstable job, for profit hospital which means it's about the money. No supplies, they have a lot of lay offs. Especially on Friday afternoons. As nurses we doubled as housekeeping. Yes we cleaned bathrooms. Very high turnover in my department, unsafe at times. Stressful. Managers walk out at 430 and leave the unit full of patients and unsafe. You never knew when you were leaving. Ever. Caused hard feeling amongst staff, causing the high turnover .
Advice to Management
Retire!!! Getting your job based on how well you knew the CEO is old news!!
I applied online. I interviewed at Roger Williams Medical Center (Providence, RI) in November 2015.
The interview process was a long thorough process they asked lots of questions. They want to make sure you are competent and able to handle working in a hospital setting. It did take a while to hear back from someone in regards to if I got the position.
