THE MANY FACES OF ROLLINS
Our Rollins family is made up of many races, genders, cultures and beliefs. We pride ourselves on our diversity since it brings more experience and knowledge to our team. We measure our success through hard work, determination and exceptional customer service, and we offer each and every employee the training and support they need to pursue the career goals they desire.
We’re proud of our female workforce and their commitment to excellence. We offer women the same opportunities available to any other employee, and we make sure the Orkin workplace is rich in personal fulfillment and career advancement. Some might consider the pest management industry a nontraditional job for female employees, but we feel differently -- we welcome, respect and value women in our workforce. It’s our experience that women make a unique contribution to the pest control industry, and every woman who wears an Orkin uniform becomes a vital member of our team.
For those preparing to exit school, Orkin provides a great place to lay the building blocks of success. On top of our outstanding pay and benefits, we provide something more valuable -- the ability to continue to ascend as a person and professional, and the tools, resources and knowledge to do so. At Orkin, a commitment to your future isn't just talk. It's what we do.
If you've served our country and are looking for a company that maintains the same culture of discipline and professionalism, dedication and family, then you will fit right in at Rollins. We feel that the attitude and character displayed by the brave people who serve our country is a winning formula, and apply it in all facets of what we do. You can join us and build a successful future, while continuing to apply the skills you developed in the service.
Pest control isn’t only about controlling pests. It’s also about helping the community, including fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for entomology. We take our role in the community seriously, and we apply our knowledge, talents and resources to help our neighbors in any we can. And we don’t just wait for customers to call us. We're always out there looking on our own for ways we can help. We’re committed to community involvement.
I have been working at Rollins full-time (More than 5 years)
I work with excellent managers and great people who make the work environment fun and interesting. We have gone paperless as far as our service tickets go and we now see all our work through a useful smartphone app that shows any adjustments made to our routes in real time. The company keeps the trucks fairly new and covers all gas and service for the work vehicles.
There is not too much mental stimulation that doesn't have to do with bugs. The insurance is terrible. The pay plan is production based which equals no overtime; even though they expect you too anyway.
Advice to Management
Pay the employees better and keep it up with the systems of support and providing us with new and useful equipment to get our jobs done.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Rollins (Atlanta, GA) in March 2017.
I was picked up in the front lobby by the VOIP engineer and asked where did I park. I then was walked to my car and instructed to park 20 yards away in front of the IT building in the back. To summarize this was all in an effort to inspect the type of vehicle I drove.
