Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

I applied online. I interviewed at Rooof (Canada)
InterviewAs someone who has done hundreds of telephone screenings, I found this one to be very impersonal, with what seemed to be computer-generated questions. It felt like speaking to a robot, with questions that were vaguely tied to the role. Some questions were essay-style questions asked over the phone. It seemed like poor use of phone time. I would be surprised if they gleaned any relevant information from any of the candidates with this interview style.
If this company were to choose to continue with this style of questioning, I would recommend that the answers be provided in written form, or that they be provided in an advance. I would personally recommend they change the phone screening to a more informal, get-to-know-you style, with some technical questions added in.Interview
