At Ryan, everything we do is guided by our seven core values.

One of Ryan’s core values is generosity. Simply put, we share our success. Our success has resulted in substantial rewards for our associates, and it is their generosity and our Firm’s culture of giving back to the community that have inspired our vision and establishment of The Ryan Foundation. Through the foundation, our employees have dedicated countless hours to their communities and have contributed millions of dollars to more than 200 charities. At Ryan, sharing our success through serving others is the perfect way to reflect on the hard work and phenomenal growth Ryan and our employees have experienced.

Ryan’s approach to being a “Best Workplace” is most clearly demonstrated through myRyan, our Firm’s innovative work environment that allows employees to achieve the highest level of success and productivity in all areas of life, including professional and personal endeavors. As opposed to a traditional work environment, myRyan changes the measurement of work from hours to results. Through collaboration and support, Ryan employees thrive in a guilt-free workplace in which the focus is on results and superior client service, rather than where and when the work is done. In exchange for incredible flexibility and freedom, Ryan employees have accepted accountability for delivering results.

myRyan supports team members through innovative communication and collaboration. Team members respect the work styles of others and plan effectively to ensure client service excellence. All employees have the freedom to work with their managers to determine the best approach that will allow them to achieve the best results. All employees communicate and collaborate to achieve work-life success.

Compensation
One reason for Ryan's success is that we share the success with our employees. We have created an innovative incentive program that allows us to distribute bonus income to employees based on their contributions to an engagement. Our base salaries are highly competitive, and the income potential for sharing in the value that we deliver to our clients is unparalleled.

Benefits
Ryan recognizes that our benefits provide for the well-being of our employees and their families. Most of our benefits are available to employees on the first of the month following their date of hire. Employees working in a regular, full scope or reduced scope one (1) capacity are eligible to participate in all of the benefit plans offered by the Firm. And because we understand that one size does not fit all, we offer many benefit plan choices, including:

Medical Coverage
Medical plans offered by Ryan include outstanding health benefits and choices for our eligible employees and their dependents (i.e., spouse, domestic partner, and children). We offer two plans that allow employees the freedom to use both in-network and out-of-network providers for medically necessary and routine preventive care services—a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan and a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). A substantial employer subsidy is provided for both employee and dependent coverage.

Dental Coverage
Ryan offers a choice of two PPO dental plans, both including orthodontia coverage, to all eligible employees and their dependents.

Vision Coverage
Ryan offers comprehensive vision coverage to all eligible employees and their dependents.

Pre-Tax Programs
Ryan’s Section 125 Plan enables eligible employees to pay for certain benefit plan premiums with pre-tax dollars. Net taxable income is reduced, which potentially lowers income and social security tax. Pre-tax options in the Section 125 program are as follows:

  1. Medical/Dental/Vision Premiums - This option allows premiums to be deducted from paychecks in pre-tax dollars. Federal Tax and FICA are not withheld on these premiums. W-2 income is reduced by the amount of the premiums.
  2. Health Care Reimbursement or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - Employees are able to set aside pre-tax income to pay for non-reimbursable medical expenses for themselves and their qualified dependents. These expenses are not covered by insurance.
  3. Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - Employees who are enrolled in the HDHP may elect to open an HSA for pre-tax payroll deduction. The HSA is owned and opened by the employee. Ryan provides the option of this account for payroll deduction via our medical plan provider and its affiliates.

Company-Paid and Voluntary Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Ryan provides group term life and AD&D insurance coverage at no cost to all regular, full scope and reduced scope one (1) employees. Employees may purchase additional term life and AD&D insurance coverage for themselves and their dependents.

Short- and Long-Term Disability
Ryan provides both short- and long-term disability insurance at no cost to eligible employees.

Employee Assistance Program
Ryan employees and their immediate families have access to a confidential referral service to discuss personal or professional issues they may be facing. This service is fully subsidized by the Firm.

International Business Traveler Insurance
For the convenience, as well as security of Ryan employees traveling outside their home country, we offer International Business Traveler Insurance. This coverage includes medical and inpatient hospital services, as well as assistance with lost luggage, security, trip planning aids, and emergency contingency help for all eligible employees traveling internationally on Ryan’s behalf.

401(k) Plan
Ryan offers a competitive 401(k) plan that provides a full array of investment options to defer pre-tax earnings and an employer matching contribution to all eligible employees.

Physical Fitness Program
Ryan provides a partial subsidy to eligible employees for membership dues at the fitness club of their choice.

Wellness Program
Our myHealth employee wellness program, modeled after Ryan’s results-focused work environment, is revolutionary and cutting edge. Through educational programs, team and individual challenges, wellness activities, and online tools and resources, myHealth offers a comprehensive approach to all aspects of overall health: physical health, physical activity (exercise and fitness), nutrition, and emotional health. The core principles of myHealth are to embrace wellness, encourage healthy lifestyles, and empower employees to achieve total wellness.

Focus on Results

As part of our innovative myRyan work environment, employees are free to take time off at their discretion, guilt free, consistent with the needs of clients and the Firm, as long as their work gets done. The focus is on results and superior client service, rather than on where and when work is completed. myRyan is designed to allow professionals to achieve the highest level of success and productivity in all areas of life, including professional and personal endeavors. Because Ryan measures performance on results achieved, not hours worked, traditional vacation and Paid Time Off (PTO) programs are not in place for exempt (salaried) employees.

The Firm provides eligible non-exempt (hourly) employees twenty-two (22) personal days off per year, which increases to twenty-seven (27) days after five (5) years of service. This time, which accrues on a per-pay-period basis, is available for vacation, illness, personal business, or any other time away from work. Time off for bereavement, extended illness/incapacity, jury duty, military, and parental leaves are handled through the Firm’s Time Off Programs Policy.

The Firm provides ten (10) paid holidays per year to all eligible employees. More details about myRyan will be made available during the on-boarding process.

Leaves of Absence (LOA)
Ryan offers generous paid and unpaid leaves of absence for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, bereavement, jury duty, maternity, paternity, adoption, and military.

Parking
Parking facilities for all Ryan offices are subsidized by the Firm for the convenience of employees.

CPA/Bar Exam Review Course and Bonus
Upon successful completion of the Uniform CPA/Bar Examination while employed by Ryan, the Firm will reimburse up to $2,500 for fees relating to review courses taken during employment at the Firm. In addition, any employee who successfully completes the Uniform CPA/Bar Examination, while an employee of the Firm, will receive a cash bonus of $1,500.

Professional Dues
Professional dues to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), state societies, and other equivalent professional associations for non-CPAs are reimbursable.

These benefits may change from time to time at the Firm's discretion. This list is intended to provide a general outline of our benefits program. Ryan reserves the right to amend these benefits.

Accelerated Promotion Path
Opportunity for advancement is one of the top criteria for recent graduates and professionals alike when seeking a new career. Ryan provides unlimited opportunity for advancement and an accelerated career path for high performers that exceed the traditional career timeline at national accounting firms and other tax consulting companies.

Training
Ryan has one of the most comprehensive employee training curriculums you'll find in the industry. Developed by our own professionals, our extensive learning activities will enhance your knowledge and prepare you for the challenging and diverse issues you will encounter during your career.

We are a four-time winner of the prestigious Association for Talent Development (ATD) BEST Award recognizing organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success through employee learning and development. Ryan recognizes the personal career impact that talent development and continuing education have on our associates, and we know that having a knowledgeable and skilled workforce drives client value and results.

I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I joined Ryan straight out of college. After a few good years, I left the firm to go work elsewhere in a different industry. After only a couple of months of being away from Ryan, I sorely missed it. I quickly recognized what a difference it made to have leadership that is trustworthy, reliable, and future-focused. I've been back at Ryan for over 7 years now, and it's such a blessing to work with true professionals every day, knowing that they'll carry their part, and that the firm cares for me as an individual employee. The flexible work schedule is a huge benefit towards minimizing stress each day. Being able to work from home if you're not feeling 100% and not having to worry about clocking-in late because of rush hour traffic is just priceless.

    Cons

While the firm has just celebrated its 25th Anniversary, we're still growing at a brisk pace. That brings with it some growing pains, but we manage to continue to improve on that year after year and are charging ahead to a bright future.

    Advice to Management

Continue to take risks towards future success and continue to welcome fresh ideas from creative employees.
