    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at S&C Electric in February 2018.

    Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter about a pretty high level position. After I passed that screening, they came back the next day and said that my salary requirement may be too high, and to give them a number for the LOWEST amount I would POSSIBLY take for this position. I told them I couldn't give that without meeting anyone or knowing much about the company. She set me up with an HR interview, even giving me the name of the HR contact. When the time came, I was called by two engineers who peppered me with extremely technical questions for 50 minutes. I answered their questions but got frustrated when they basically asked me how I would use an optimization algorithm to solve a problem that has a simple solution that can be found by geometrical calculation. I told them I would look it up and they pressed on until I gave them the algorithm response. Pretty stupid process overall.
