I have been working at S&C Electric full-time (More than a year)
Well-managed, forward-thinking company with solid plans for growth. Diversity is embraced -with engineers from all over the world - it is a true melting pot and great example for other companies. Great benefits. Clear career framework - raises based on merit rather than how long you've been employed there - you get out what you put in (your hard work pays off). In addition to vacation, company shuts down with pay for last week of December. The company supports local social organizations, including the Misericordia home.
In the past, the company, while great at Engineering, didn't have a strong grasp on other roles. As a result, many unqualified people were put non-engineering positions, including management. The new management is correcting that - bringing in new people and setting up a career framework that clearly defines skills needed for success. There is resentment from legacy employees who are now expected to perform at a higher levels.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at S&C Electric.
I just had one phone interview. It lasted for about 15min. Behavioral questions. Why do you want to with at S&C? The questions were simple and easy. Nothing technical. I got an offer 5 days later.
