  • Throughout June, we celebrated our #inclusive and #diverse culture by recognizing and taking an important moment to pause, observe, and support our members, employees, and friends in the LGBTQ+ community. 🏳️‍🌈 Since we can't be in person this year, our Equality Alliance Business Resource group hosted a virtual #Pride event where employees had the opportunity to share their own Pride experiences, learn the history of Pride, and even sing a little. 🎤 We closed the event with images of SAIC Pride engagements from 2019, including participation at festivals as well as volunteer activities at Mama's Kitchen and Food & Friends and raising money for Feeding America.🧡 We are very proud to sponsor events like these and know how important it is for our employees to bring their authentic selves to work every day. “There is a great personal touch in the company,” said Stephanie Fillmore, a senior software developer who joined SAIC in 2017 and is involved in the Women’s Business Resource Group, one of six employee groups that are part of MOSAIC. “For me, I wanted to get involved early on. It has been invaluable for me to get to know people in the company, to network, and also for my career development.”


Commitment starts at the top

Chief Executive Officer Nazzic Keene is personally committed to making sure all employees have meaningful opportunities to contribute to our success. She is MOSAIC's executive sponsor and serves on its Inclusion & Diversity Council.

“I expect all leaders and employees to foster an environment where everyone feels valued,” Keene said.

For Ryan Ashworth, having the SAIC Equality Alliance, a business resource group focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees, is a new reason to be proud of our company.

“It’s really great that I can live and work authentically as who I am,” said Ashworth, a technical writer with SAIC since 2011. “If I’m happy, I’m going to do better work. It’s a credit to SAIC realizing this and wanting to support the Equality Alliance and making people feel at home.”


In addition to the Women’s Business Resource Group and the Equality Alliance, we have groups focused on our military and veteran employees and their families and on employees who are part of the Millennial generation.

These employee-led, voluntary organizations provide opportunities for networking, mentorship, and leadership development. They are also active in community outreach events. Although each business resource group has a specific focus, all employees are welcome and encouraged to participate.

    Positive Outlook

    I have been working at SAIC full-time (Less than a year)


    + Great team and collaborative environment. They trust you have the skills and experience and support you how you need it. The managers care, and it's a fairly flat organization.
    + Training opportunities! If you see a certification or professional development training that interests you (engineering, proj mgmt, Agile, leadership, SE, etc) ask and they can pay for it. If it supports the customer's mission they can ensure you're paid for your time and not doing training after-hours
    + Enhanced leave benefits for veterans, great place for vets
    + Great workplace for LGBT, women, and woman engineers, none of the typical problems encountered in industry.
    + Yearly pay raise and bonus
    + Flexible schedules and good work/life balance
    + Reacted properly to Covid with teleworking highly encouraged after customer coordination


    - No clear path for promotion
    - Depending on the customer/program, the workload can be sporadic and task loads unbalanced, but you get support from management that offsets that, and once you hit your hours, you hit your hours for that pay period.
