I worked at SV Academy as an intern (Less than a year)
SV Academy is an amazing program that prepares you to go above and beyond in B2B tech sales. Their assignments are designed to cultivate the mindset necessary for success; you'll receive weekly feedback in addition to semi-regular, individual coaching sessions depending on your needs as a fellow. Their investment into you as future tech professionals doesn't stop there - in the second half of the program, there is an internship where you can apply the lessons from the first half and gain real work experience reaching out to leads. You learn a lot about the position itself and know what to expect once you officially begin as an SDR/BDR.
Be prepared for a rigorous training! There is a lot to learn in this program, especially if you are new to the tech industry. Your success depends on the amount of time you commit to learning the material they provide. I wish I had more time to discuss the material in a group setting - a lot of it is self-learning.
Advice to Management
I love the attitude that the SV Academy staff shows. They're always looking to improve their program and always asking for feedback. Never change that, because it gives your fellows a voice and creates an environment where we are all learning from each other.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at SV Academy (Santa Clara, CA) in February 2018.
The Recruiting Manager scheduled the first Zoom interview after selecting my online application for further review. Then, the hiring committee asked that I complete a work-related assessment before a second Zoom interview with an SV Academy founder.
