I worked at SV Academy as an intern
I owe the world to SV Academy. They not only helped me learn the BDR role but they have instilled in me the confidence to become a future leader. Every week, I learned something new about the BDR position: how to handle cold calls, learn the importance of meeting a sales quota and how to write effective emails to various personas including C-suite, Directors, and Managers.
Additionally, I worked directly with highly competent teachers, coaches, mentors and students that pushed me to exceed expectations and understand that I can achieve anything as long as I have a growth mindset.
I see two ways of process improvement. First, through communication. At times, it took a while to get in touch with teachers and staff. I understand that every member is taking on multiple jobs but maybe think of a way to show that you received a fellow’s message.
Second, get the students more involved in the live workshops. A solution would be to send out a message (2-3 days in advance) and ask if the fellows want to contribute anything to the class. I believe this would get more fellows involved as we will have something to give.
Advice to Management
Overall, this program is AWESOME. The only thing I would consider is teaching fellows how to handle a more complex sale such as an enterprise sale with multiple personas. This would have been beneficial thru the interview process as I had to conduct a mock panel discovery meeting.
