I have been working at SVA Certified Public Accountants, S.C. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you're willing to speak up, you have a lot of opportunities to be involved in a lot of decision making. You have a lot of access to partners and decision makers and have the ability to influence and drive change. Higher-ups are willing to listen, give feedback, and are open to discussion, but you often have to ask for it - it won't necessarily be handed out. There are a number of perks for the CPA firm during busy season, including treats, lunches catered on Saturdays, and some days off during busy times to recharge. The amount of time off is generous, but there are some restrictions on when you can use it.

    Cons

Communication doesn't always come timely. Health insurance is expensive.

    Advice to Management

Be more open about communication. Trickle down communication doesn't create confidence in your decisions.

    Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at SVA Certified Public Accountants, S.C..

    Interview

Relatively relaxed initial interview with HR, then second interview with hiring partner. Hired in October to begin work in January, so the interviews begin early. Make sure you dress to impress for the second interview, the hiring partner is not easily won over.

    Interview Questions

    • The initial interview was very different in the way that there were not many questions, mostly just chatting about accounting topics. The second interview had all the standard questions.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

    No negotiation, set hourly rate
