    I worked at SWIFT full-time (More than 10 years)


    Good training opportunities, room for growth, competitive salary and outstanding benefit packages


    The company lost its way while trying to be more of commercial and a profitable company, while it should be managed what it was founded as: a non-profit corporate. That it is supposed to be a non-profit organization is for a good reason so that banks can fully rely on it. If SWIFT becomes too commercial, an entity that can be replaced by a for profit company, then it will be replaced by a for profit company as SWIFT would become irrelevant.

    Advice to Management

    At SWIFT It is all about sales now. And the sales people will sell anything these days to the banks for the sake of meeting their sales targets, and getting their personal compensation checks. Trusting the old reputation of SWIFT the banks pay tens, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars/euros in license costs for something they don't need or in certain cases for something SWIFT doesn't even charge the other bank for. The banks think SWIFT is a not for profit corporate so they can trust it blindly, forgetting the commission checks the sales people get are real money and they are for their personal profit.

    I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at SWIFT (Manassas, VA) in March 2017.


    Phone Screen with basic IT questions, a description of the companies messaging tool technology, overview of benefits then query on your salary requirements. The salary mentioned was very low for the level of the position and DMV area so we ended the process. Thanks but no thanks.
