Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Salesloft (United States)

    Interview

I applied online and was reached out by a recruiter to schedule an interview. It became apparent that every email I sent required an additional follow-up email in order to get a response. I had a standard 30 minute call going over basic questions about the company, my background, expectations, etc. I was then moved onto a cognitive/personality assessment and technical assessment. The cognitive assessment is 30 minutes and contains some exact vocabulary questions (cue me frantically googling the definitions of abridgement, myopic, and copacetic). The personality assessment asks 150 statements which you agree or disagree with in order to get a culture fit. I then completed a series of straightforward SQL query and data visualization questions.

Unfortunately I was ghosted after this stage and did not receive any feedback on my assessment despite my follow-up. It was disappointing as I had spent several hours tuning my technical assessment. Had I moved on, the process would've been followed by a hiring manager interview, 3 peer interviews, a technical interview, and lastly a topgrade interview. Overall, I felt it was surprisingly unprofessional given their high Glassdoor rating and was one of the worst interview experiences I've had.
