    I worked at Salsify full-time (More than 3 years)


    1. Unreal team. I feel like every Glassdoor review for every company mentions this as a pro, but the team at Salsify is genuinely excellent. People are smart, motivated, and genuinely good people all around.

    2. Culture is one of those weird corporate terms that every tech company throws around to the point of complete definition erosion. What does it mean, exactly? Who knows. All I know is that at Salsify, creativity, hard work, and positivity are rewarded. Employees are recognized for their actions and people who prove that they know what they're doing are left alone to do their work however they see fit.

    3. Compensation is generally very good - a smidge higher than market for most roles and a good degree above market if you prove that you're worth it. Benefits aren't too shabby either. Unlimited PTO is pretty genuine, health insurance is solid and is covered 100% by Salsify, and the office is an awesome space. No benefits that go above and beyond what you'd expect but there's enough there that you aren't worried about breaking your leg/enjoying some time off/etc.

    4. Insanely strong product team. The product itself is genuinely excellent and the vision for it is light years ahead of any other product in the industry. I'd confidently recommend Salsify over any other competitor to a potential customer and I'm not even drinking their kool-aid any more.


    1. Growing pains across teams. Customer success has had a really tough time keeping up with new business logo acquisition. Marketing leadership has seen a lot of turnover. Sales has team-specific issues around comp, lack of resources, and territories that don't mesh well with product strengths. The product evolves quickly and features are frequently released prematurely. Reporting is an unmitigated nightmare. You know, the usual fast-moving tech company chaos.

    2. Decision-making has become more top-heavy recently. There was an increasingly common trend of ideas for projects materializing in an exec offsite/ops team meeting/etc that sound bulletproof on paper but don't make any sense at the tactical level. When concerns were voiced at the tactical level, they increasingly fell on deaf ears.

    Why neither of these negatively impact an overall five star rating: Salsify is constantly identifying and addressing issues like these. It's really nice working somewhere that constantly works to remedy any issues that interfere with your ability to do your job on a day-to-day.

    Advice to Management

    Do whatever you can to retain the culture that got this company where it is today. Listen to lower level employees, both proactively for creative ways to innovate, and reactively to make sure there's nothing getting in the way of them making the biggest impact they can make.

    Remember: Salsify isn't a PXM company. It used to be PIM & some other stuff, then it was PCM, now PXM - who knows what it'll look like in 5 years. Ultimately, Salsify is a bull in the proverbial china shop of commerce, and the most lucrative things for Salsify's bottom line happen when someone in the trenches has an "aha" moment and someone with a "V" and a "P" in their title leverages their experience to entertain and nurture that idea.

    I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Salsify.


    I was referred by a now-fellow-coworker, and the whole process took around a month from start to finish. It was by far the most humane interview process I have gone through-- my first interview was over coffee/lunch with the director of my team and I was asked back to meet with 4 or 5 different potential teammates and share a small skills test with them. The whole interview felt like a conversation-- I was able to ask many of my own questions-- and everyone was very friendly!
