To be recognized as one of the great orchestras of the world and a major contributor to the quality of life in the San Diego region.
I worked at San Diego Symphony Orchestra Association as an intern (Less than a year)
Some great middle managers who became role models to me, the other interns were also great to work with. Over all it was a great experience in seeing how to run a non-profit.
Not enough money in the classical musical world to hire new talent--despite breaking previous sales records. Classical music is a dying industry. Cities like San Diego should look to exciting orchestras like the LA Phil and take cues on how to innovate and attract new business.
