San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) is a licensed community health plan that provides affordable health care coverage to over 140,000 low and moderate-income families. Members have access to a full spectrum of medical services including preventive care, specialty care, hospitalization, prescription drugs, and family planning services. SFHP was designed by and for the residents it serves, and takes great pride in its ability to accommodate a diverse population that includes young adults, seniors, and people with disabilities.

We were created by the City and County of San Francisco with one purpose: to provide high quality medical care to the largest number of low-income San Francisco residents possible, while supporting San Francisco’s public and community-minded doctors, clinics, and hospitals.

Our members choose from over 7,000 providers and specialists, five hospitals, 12 campuses and over 500 pharmacies – all in neighborhoods close to where they live and work.

We are proud of what we do. And so are our members!

  • Eight of every ten San Francisco Medi-Cal managed care enrollees choose San Francisco Health Plan
  • Our Healthy Kids program consistently scores over 95% on health care satisfaction, great customer service, and ease of enrollment

    Application

    I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at San Francisco Health Plan (San Francisco, CA) in June 2015.

    Interview

    Phone screen with Hr Recruiter. 30 minute phone interview with hiring manager and another person. Then a 3 hour in person meeting that consisted of 4 different interviews, with 6 different people. I interviewed with HR, the Hiring Manager, and everyone on the team. Everyone was really nice, great interviews. But the questions were very redundant! Interview with HR was very intense to the point of almost rude at some points (kept cutting off answers to ask another question), but pretty straight forward. HR also mentioned there would be a 4th round interview if I made it passed this round. Also, took HR 4 weeks after my interview to get back to me when they said they would get back to me the following Monday.
