I have been working at San Francisco Housing Authority full-time (More than 5 years)
SFHA has a tremendous mission: Housing some of SF poorest people.
I've worked in two other agencies and this is the most dysfunctional. Sr Staff were mostly promoted to their roles without learning how to manage or lead people or projects. NOTHING goes smoothly here. Despite the strategic plans that "say" the agency will improve... Don't hold your breath.
Advice to Management
Do what you say you are going to do.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at San Francisco Housing Authority in January 2010.
I was hired to fill a gap in their racial quota. They needed to fill a non-minority position. This agency hires based on race, not on qualifications. They treat their employee's like slaves and have no respect for their employees
