I worked at Santa Fe Opera as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked as an apprentice in the costume shop. People were very respectful towards each other and it felt like management genuinely cared about us as people. They make sure you take your breaks. The pay is fair and housing is provided. Santa Fe is also just a great town to live in for a summer. You work with highly experienced professionals who enjoy passing their knowledge down to others. Employees can also get free tickets to the shows, which is awesome. Overall working there was a great experience.

    Cons

The housing for apprentices isn't great. The apartments they are placed in is not great, there is no air conditioning and the wifi is extremely poor. Most people buy box fans and split the cost of a router with their roommates and/or people in a neighboring apartment.

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Santa Fe Opera (Santa Fe, NM).

    Interview

Exhausting. If the entire village doesn't love you, you're screwed. Also seem to be some old timers there who won't let go. There are also some people who currently work there who are not qualified for their jobs. Most people are very nice but it's a very clique-y, weird vibe that is not very welcoming.

    Interview Questions

    • No one question. Just exhausting to be interviewed over a period of days by so many people.   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

Actually, this situation is still pending! But I plan to decline.
