At Sargento Foods®, we believe in a concept of ownership that goes beyond our stockholders to include the other important contributors to our success. We include as stakeholders not only our stockholders, but also our employees, customers, community, and suppliers. Although clearly different from that of a stockholder they each have a meaningful stake in our company. Because of this, we recognize the importance of evaluating the impact of our decisions on each of our stakeholders.

Learn more about our Corporate Culture.
A Foundation of Trust, Honesty and Fairness.
When Leonard Gentine Sr. founded Sargento in 1953, he also laid the foundation for a corporate culture that defines how we interact with others. Leonard taught his employees and his children that success was contingent upon working with good people and treating them the way you would like to be treated – with trust, honesty and fairness.
We have invested considerable time in defining our culture, and we ask every employee to help us maintain and enhance the Sargento spirit. This is how we will continue Leonard’s legacy and become an even greater company without losing sight of the principles and values that guided Leonard and should guide our actions every day.
Competitive Pay and Benefits
Grounded in our corporate culture, Sargento provides a compensation and benefit package on par or better than those found in other organizations. As a privately-held and owned company, we are free to appeal to the interests of our employees and not to the whims of stockholders found in publicly-traded companies.
I worked at Sargento full-time (More than 3 years)
Ergonomics, always trying to keep people safe. Keeps you thinking, not boring.
Hard to keep the job when you're needed at home. No sabbatical offered there, or anywhere else.
Advice to Management
Your doing great keep up the good work. I hope my kids work there when they grow up.
I applied online. I interviewed at Sargento.
I applied online and received a call wanting to set up an interview. First, I talked with a person from HR and she gave me details about the intern program and asked about logistics. The second interview was done via video chat and it was with the supervisors of the department I was interviewing for. This interview was more technical.
