Satellite CEO wants to break the mold in dialysis care - Nephrology News & Issues

Dialysis has become an industry dominated by large chains. According to the 2015 United States Renal Data Systems Annual Report, the three large dialysis organizations treated 71% of patients in 2013. After peaking in 2006, the incident rate of end-stage renal disease patients has slowly declined over the last nine years.

Satellite Healthcare's Dialysis Nurses Have Earned a Reputation as Leaders in CKD Patient Care

For more than four decades, Satellite has emphasized and elevated the role of dialysis nurse as essential to the comprehensive treatment CKD patients deserve. We've nurtured an environment where the professional nurse can thrive.

  • Nurse Practice Committee. Satellite actively fosters professional interaction among nurses across its centers. The Nurse Practice Committee provides a venue for nurses to come together to look at ways to improve the quality of how we help our patients as well as the job satisfaction of our professional staff.
  • Industry Participation. One of Satellite's goals is to continuously improve our centers and to share our experience with internal and external dialysis providers. Members of our nursing staff are routinely asked to speak and present papers both internally and externally at industry conferences.
  • Career Advancement. Satellite provides tuition reimbursement for nurses interested in pursuing a BSN or Master's degree. This support includes providing nurses with flexible schedules that allow them to work while they complete their degrees. Satellite encourages continuing education for its nurses, and an online library is also available to the staff to increase their knowledge in the field as well as complete CEU credits.
  • Career Development. Satellite Healthcare provides staff with detailed clinical ladders to advance professional’s skills and education. Education and mentorship opportunities are available for those interested in pursuing management positions.
  • Useful Technology Tools. Satellite Healthcare has invested in a number of easy-to-use technology tools that help reduce paperwork and allow for an even better patient interaction. Read more >

Rosamaria, Master CCHT

“Several of my extended family members had polycystic kidney disease. Satellite Healthcare took care of them and helped make their lives much better. I wanted to work for the company that cared for my family and gives back to my community.”
