On line courses for personal development
In general, people were friendly and worked hard
Safe work environment
Overall clean healthy workplace
Healthy snacks for staff in lunchroom
Poor level of training - Train the trainer
Salary employees working 55+ hours weekly with no compensation
High stress for salaried employees (Non Unionized)
Poor culture due to High turnover which leads to Poor morale
Retail...say goodbye to freetime
Crazy Hours anywhere from 5am to 11pm
Brakes are difficult to take, practically non existent
Poor advancement of untrained staff ill-prepared for next level of duties
Advice to Management
There are better ways to increase sales other than trimming hours. For the love of god, please stop using the word "Support", its meaningless without follow through, numerous times in situations where support was needed, it was not provided and the instructions were to "just deal with it". Stop micro analyzing your department managers, allow them to do their jobs and provide them with some real support. Perishable department managers have a tough enough time gazing into the crystal ball of 4 week out pre-orders, Cut-off's need to be more realistic and order adjustments need to be sooner than 4 days. I am All for success but department managers need concrete assistance to help move the company forward not just finger pointing at KPI's. Finally, please fix department equipment issues.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Save-On Foods (Langley, BC (Canada)).
Got a phone call the day I applied online. Then had an over the phone interview that lasted around 15 minutes. I was passed on the next stage where I got a call from the hiring manager, scheduled an interview for that week. The interview was very relaxed. Lasted around 30 minutes. Got hired on the spot.
