  1. Packaging Design Director Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Paterson, NJ

    Negative Experience
    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Scentbird (Paterson, NJ) in Jun 2021

    Interview

I was excited to move forward with the next interview with the hiring manager. However there needs to be a “test design assignment” requirement which I mentioned that I am not comfortable with it especially given the position being a “director” level and with my references and background I am not feeling comfortable doing a test (which I mentioned I was okay if it was only technical to find common grounds) however position I interviewed for can not be proven with a simple day test as it requires being able to launch a product/packaging and is related to problem solving in many milestones. HR said they’ll find out and let me know and still planned for Wednesday interview. I never heard back from her even after following up with her. Glad I didn’t spend my resources and time for a “test design project”. Please be more sensitive in your hiring process and instead of a test perhaps pay for freelance for a day or do a deep background check so you can find the right talent.
