Company Updates

  • We're very excited to welcome our newest Senior Associates to Schellman!

  • "Earlier this year I joined the Schellman team with ambitions to develop my career at a small CPA firm, while learning more from the thought leaders in the industry that would soon become my colleagues. From a career perspective, the team continues to put quality above all, and challenges me to show up as my authentic true self, every day. What I’ve quickly realized in my few months of tenure, is that I am getting much more than I bargained for. Already, I have attained much more, I built solid relationships with my colleagues, and truly feel that these will be lasting friendships and mentorships throughout my life. Schellman & Company – Why Work For Us?

About Us

Schellman & Company, LLC is a leading provider of attestation and compliance services.

We are the only company in the world that is a CPA firm, a globally licensed PCI Qualified Security Assessor, an ISO Certification Body, HITRUST Assessor,  and a FedRAMP 3PAO.

We are a trusted provider to the world’s leading companies, from the Fortune 1000 and publicly traded companies, to privately held entities of all sizes.

Our service delivery model allows for optimum quality and client experience for organizations of every size and complexity.

We are setting the pace and blazing new trails.

We are the only company in the world capable of providing our clients the rare opportunity to achieve multiple compliance objectives through a single independent assessor — using experienced teams dedicated to delivering the highest quality.

The strength of Schellman comes from the experience of our professionals. To date, our team members have collectively completed over 10,000 projects, including more than 9,000 SOC examinations and hundreds of other compliance assessments and certifications.

Our professionals average nearly ten years of professional services experience per individual, which is very uncommon in this industry. These team members are almost exclusively the alumni of Big 4 global accounting firms and tier one technology firms. The vast majority of our personnel held supervisory positions immediately prior to joining our company.

We place significant value in the demonstrated expertise of our professionals. As a result, every project team is comprised of experts in the area of accounting, auditing, information security and controls, and business process auditing. This expertise is demonstrated by our team members’ achievement of combinations of the following certifications:

  • Certified Public Acountant (CPA)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assessor (PCI QSA)
  • Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledgebase (CCSK)
  • ISO Lead Auditor (9000, 20000, 27001)

By focusing on a specific set of interrelated services, our professionals provide relevant assurance and compliance services on a constant basis. It is common for any single member of our project team to have more individual project experience than entire teams of professionals proposed by our competitors. With an average experience level that exceeds 100 previously completed projects per individual, our personnel are among the most experienced in the industry.

We’re challenging.  Our positions aren’t for everyone.  We move quickly, and our projects are in-depth.  You’ll be taking your skill set and knowledge to the next level and enjoy the feeling of completion- often.  We need our team to be prepared to work, flexible and excellent at time management.

We’re rewarding.  We only promote from within and offer an outstanding compensation and benefit package for your hard work.  Our travel is around 50%, we pay a bonus if you’re outside of the Monday-Thursday travel window, and you enjoy working from home when you’re not onsite with the client.

We’re empowering.  What direction do you want to take your career?  At Schellman, we leave the big decisions up to you.  Want to work on SOC, ISO, GDPR, HiTRUST?  You have the ability to choose what you specialize in; we’ll provide the guidance and support to help facilitate the next step of your professional journey.  We appreciate and reward initiative; advancement is based on performance and since we only hire experienced Associates, there is a high level of trust and autonomy in completing projects.  We give you the ability to set your goals, limited only by your own ambitions.

Schellman might not be as well-known, but we are well-liked.  We’ve been recognized in the industry as one of the top Best Small Firms to Work for by Consulting Magazine, but even more importantly, our employees have great things to say about working here.  If our values parallel what you’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.  Join us in being part of something truly unique in the world of compliance.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Schellman & Company full-time (More than 3 years)

It's so rare to find a company that listens to suggestions and lets their employees implement their ideas and initiatives. Since it's a smaller firm, it's easy to contribute and stand out. The benefits are great and we do lot of team-building events.

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Continue to let the true leaders lead. They are why our environment is as great as it is. Changing this might impact the positive morale.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Schellman & Company (New York, NY) in June 2017.

Applied online. Reached out to the CTO in person at a conference.

HR contacted me a few days later for a phone screening.

CTO provided a SRS document and provided access to Quickbase to build the app the next day.

I built the app to the requirements and then had a phone interview with the CTO and President.
