I have been working at Science Systems and Applications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are very competitive. There is a lot of support and encouragement for investing in your skillset.

    Cons

Working for the government can be slow and cumbersome. The salary compensation could be higher, but that is a reflection of the government more than the company.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Science Systems and Applications (Hampton, VA) in April 2016.

    Interview

I sent in my application and resume, and was contacted for an in-person interview where I met with my perspective boss and I went over benefits with an HR representative. It was very relaxed and was not entirely focused on my skills, but also who I am as a person. It gave me a very good feel for the atmosphere in that it showed that I am not just a nameless coder filling a need but more a valued member of both the team and company.
