With $36 Million In Financing, Scoop Wants To Make Carpooling Mainstream

Rob and Jon Sadow got their first taste of carpooling while growing up in Atlanta in the early 2000s. The two brothers would team up for their 25-minute drive to high-school, Rob at the wheel, and Jon, his junior by three years, typically riding shotgun.

Scoop Technologies – Why Work For Us?

Scoop About Us Banner

Some easy math: what do you get when you take a few Bay Area commuters, a few cute office dogs, and the idea of carpooling? You get Scoop, the company that bring commuters together in carpools they love by partnering with their employers. Scoop unlocks new opportunities to make friendships, improve your well-being, and make the most of your valuable time.

Our team mixes technology and elbow grease every day, with one statistic in our crosshairs: 80% of Americans drive alone to work, wasting valuable minutes every morning. A big problem? Sure, but we know we can crack it through our talents, partnerships, and the Scoop Community that’s already exploding.

Our culture is open and honest, but considerate and respectful. We lead with positive energy and bet on ourselves and Scoop every day. We’re defined by the moments we share: show-and-tells, company camping, and eating way too many cookies. We come from many backgrounds: successful start-ups, big tech companies, and premier consulting firms. But whether we walked into Scoop with a tie or a t-shirt, we’re all united by a dream to change the way people get to work.

At Scoop, making the most of everyone’s valuable time isn’t a slogan - it’s our actuality - lived out in the carpools we create every morning. Join the team, share our dream, and make the most of your minutes with us.

Meet our co-founders

Both Rob and Jon have long been a firm believer that technology could be harnessed to solve everyday problems that impact our quality of life. Rob moved to the Bay Area to join his brother, Jon, and was immediately struck by the magnitude of the area’s transportation issues and how they affected the region. Inspired, the two brothers put their heads together and developed Scoop.

Rob - CEO (on the left) started his career with Bain & Company in New York as a strategy consultant. He specialized in customer strategy and marketing, helping big companies develop and execute plans to attract and retain customers.

Jon - CPO (on the right) started his career with Google in Mountain View as an Account Manager. He then progressed through his career to become a Product Manager for Google's Consumer Survey business, where he owned the product roadmap.

Growing up in Atlanta, Rob and Jon drove 25 miles each way to and from high school, which put the importance of a better, more sustainable commute into perspective at an early age.

I have been working at Scoop Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Team members are by far the friendliest and smartest people I’ve worked with. Everyone is an A player, but there aren’t any egos. Very welcoming and inclusive culture. Very thoughtful leadership. The culture is very open and transparent. Benefits are great (great insurance plans, fully catered lunches M-Th, commuter reimbursement, health and wellness reimbursement). Scoop has a dog friendly office, so it has a comfortable and relaxed vibe in the office. Unlimited PTO.

    Cons

    No complaints on this end!

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Scoop Technologies in December 2017.

    Interview

Great process with some fantastic people. The Scoop team was very responsive and accommodating to my schedule, and I enjoyed my experience with them very much.

Unfortunately, we couldn't find a time for an onsite before I accepted another offer, but everyone I worked with here was extremely nice and competent, and I would highly recommend others to apply.
