Matt Widing is a successful marketing manager, entrepreneur and sales consultant in the Greater Cleveland area. From Chagrin Falls, OH, Matt owns and manages a leading Marketing and Sales firm in the area concentrating on Fortune 100 and 500 Companies and the largest Big-Box retailers in the world today. Over the past decade, Matt has expanded his skillset to include motivational speaking, coaching and mentoring, sales management, and relationship development.
Matt is an avid Cleveland sports fan, and comes from a heavy sports background, himself. From an early age, Matt’s determination and work-ethic have opened many doors both personally and professionally. In 1998, his hockey career began to unfold when he was pre-selected to try out for Team Ohio, an elite hockey team for high- schoolers across the state. After making the team, he played with them throughout the rest of high school. During his senior year, Matt earned the opportunity to move to Columbus, OH and play with the Columbus Crush simultaneously. He continued to pursue his dream with collegiate hockey at Kent State University and minor-league professional hockey team, the Pittsburgh Pounders. The valuable skills from his time in the rink have had a major impact on his career as a Marketing Manager. From the ice to the office, Matt now excels in coaching, leadership training, and employee development within his company.
Being a self-starter, creative thinker, and team player, Matt has grown exponentially into a successful business owner. Currently, Matt oversees all operations of Score Marketing as well as his organization of 15 offices nationally. He is a decorated President and CEO, earning awards and national recognition for his achievements in training and development, management development, and market expansion.
During his early adulthood, Matt volunteered at elite level hockey camps, as well as with other philanthropic organizations like Meals on Wheels and fundraisers for breast cancer through Cadillac. Now that Matt is running a sound organization with help from his team, he is able to shift his focus and goals for 2017 back to the Cleveland community that he loves. His firm belief in treating others as you want to be treated is helping the company make strides in community involvement and giving back.
Although his professional sports career has ended, his affinity for hockey never skipped a beat! Matt continues to play with a local men’s league in the Cleveland area. He resides in the Eastern Suburbs with his biggest fan, his yellow lab named Sophie. He enjoys watching and supporting Cleveland sports teams, camping, fishing hunting, spending time with his family and friends, and being an active member of the Cleveland community.

Q. I have experience; do I still have to start entry-level?
Yes. We promote solely from within, which allows us the opportunity to invest in and develop our employees . By starting at the entry-level, we ensure that everyone is properly representing our clients, and have an equal advantage to grow and advance.
Q. Is this a commission only position?
No, we compensate our employees with a weekly base pay plus uncapped commissions and additional bonus incentives.
Q. Do you provide training?
Yes. Our company provides all employees with a full PAID orientation program as well as continued development through mentorship, conferences, weekly training seminars and individual attention from management.
Q. What is the company culture like?
We are an eclectic group; we accept employees from various walks of life, professional backgrounds, and education levels. Like the City of Cleveland, we are a melting pot.

No, we do not participate in any door-to-door or business-to-business solicitation.
I worked at Score Marketing full-time
The one thing that sticks out the most from my time with this company is how much support I got from everyone, HR, management, my co workers, etc. From the very first day that I started, I was offered amazing training, mentor ship, and pretty much management was available almost 24/7 if there were any issues or questions that I had. I really never worked in an atmosphere like that before, and it really set a standard of what I will be looking for when I move forward with another company.
You are expected to put in some longer hours and hard work to reach your goals, but it really is worth every second!
Advice to Management
Please keep the teamwork aspect of this job, it is really important for people to feel supported and to bond inside and outside of work!
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Score Marketing (Cleveland, OH) in October 2017.
It was a really good experience. Everyone from the admin who greets you to the manager who you interview with is extremely kind and welcoming. The interview was nice, it felt like the manager actually wanted to hear and learn more about me and how I would be an asset to the company.
