I have been working at SeaSpine full-time

    Pros

SeaSpine is a truly special place. I've worked for over half a dozen different companies throughout my career, and I can say SeaSpine takes the #1 spot for best culture. The people here work hard, but know how to have just as much FUN! The company is ocean-themed with everything from artistic surfboards hanging from the lobby ceiling to a 180 degree ocean view from the office. The office is located at a literal tourist destination, atop Carlsbad's famous flower fields. Nerf guns are popular and some choose to play sports like beach volleyball, soccer, and softball. With the number of bike enthusiasts, they are also big supporters of the annual Padres Pedal the Cause.

Did I mention we're designing cutting edge hardware and biologics for spine surgery? There is a state of the art cadaver lab onsite, where surgeon visits are frequently hosted. SeaSpine has built a foundation of employees from all across the industry and leverage the combined experience of spinal experts. With this, I feel there is a lot of mutual respect for each other at SeaSpine. Everyone here is proud of what they do and we are all working towards one common goal -improving the lives of patients through better spine surgery.

As far as company strength and long-term investment goes, stocks are currently cheap and on the rise. The company spun off of a large corporation (Integra LifeSciences) a few years ago and has started establishing their own identity within the industry. With the current team in place, the road ahead is wide open for the taking. With competitive and industry leading new products, I expect to see expansion of their influential footprint within coming years.

    Cons

Having to watch the ocean sunsets from inside the office, instead of right on the beach.

Joking aside, it's a young organization. Like any young company, there are a lot of organizational and process hurdles to overcome. With the amount of industry expertise at the company, I only look at this as an opportunity for growth.

    Advice to Management

Keep the lighthearted culture as you continue to grow. It will continue to draw talent, inspiration and creativity. I've seen to many companies turn stark and corporate as they got bigger. A *truly* happy workplace is incredibly undervalued these days.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SeaSpine (New York, NY).

    Interview

Contacted by the recruiter, then scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager.

Brought in for an onsite interview with the hiring manager and a team member.

No communication after two rounds of interviews, was finally given an explanation, but disappointed in the way it was handled. Candidate's time is valuable. Company needs to respect that.
