Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Interview

Three different interviews 2-3 hours total EACH, the last one a pair coding interview supposedly with the founders. It was absolutely, downright, 110% the most humiliating interview I’ve ever had in my life. It was for an ASSOCIATE role and in the interview before this and the last one they asked much more difficult questions (not related to coding q’s) and stayed completely silent while I tried to work through it / ask questions and ended up holding in tears and trying to not just hang up on them and end the torture. It was unprofessional, and they were clearly looking for a senior engineer at a cheap price. If I somehow was even offered the role there’s no way I would’ve ever taken it.. the male ego here is insane and I doubt any role would be given the chance to flourish and grow in any capacity here.
