Our Engineering Team

On the engineering side, we have a small team of 16 engineers and three platforms (web, iOS, Android). Every engineer owns a large part of our product surface area and develops new features from concept to launch. As we continue scaling, the engineering team is tackling challenges like developer efficiency, internationalization, and security.

Our Marketing Team

Our marketing team is focused on better communicating Seesaw’s value to a growing community of teachers. We’re already in 1 in 2 US schools, but have a lot of room to grow as we introduce Seesaw to new audiences. We’re also launching new features, like the recently released Activity Library, and reimagining how Seesaw can be used in classrooms.

    Positive Outlook

    I have been working at Seesaw full-time (Less than a year)


    - CEOs and managers are very experienced. They build us up for success and are always asking for feedback to make themselves better leaders. They are level-headed and transparent in their decision-making and where we are at as a company.

    - Benefits are amazing: Seesaw is constantly updating their benefits (add one new benefit voted on the company per year) so it is always getting better to fit the team's needs

    - WORK LIFE BALANCE. I could not say this enough. You come in, get your work done, and leave at a reasonable hour. Everyone has lives outside of work and many people have families, and it is truly respected.

    - Very rewarding place to work with high impact roles. Everyone at Seesaw has an integral role impacting classrooms worldwide. At our company size, everyone has a huge level of impact and has the ability to shape the product's future.


    it's pretty quiet in the office, though some people consider this a "pro" because they can focus better.

    I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Seesaw (San Francisco, CA) in October 2017.


    Overall: Very Positive

    The process took a little over a week. I had a friend that worked there who referred me to the role. They knew I had a pending offer so they were eager to get me into the office to meet the team.

    I first completed an online coding challenge in Angular. It took me around 4-5 hours. They let me know within 1 or 2 days once I completed the challenge, and we set up an onsite later that week.

    The onsite consisted of:
    15-minute pow-wow with the head recruiter (and a goodie bag)
    1-hour lunch with a co-founder and 2 engineers from the Android team
    4: 45min technical/behavioral interviews with 3 engineers and a product manager
    45 min technical interview with another co-founder

    I really enjoyed meeting the team, and they have a very cool office. I would say overall my time was split between technical problems, experience working with previous teams/projects, and them answering questions about the product and team.

    Afterword they provided feedback, which I appreciate. Basically, the main point was that they were looking for someone with more back-end experience.

    • Asked about how I would design a translation button. Ie. Designing the API, how I would place/mount the new component, how I would leverage the google API, how I would set default highlighted fields in the language drop-down menu....   Answer Question
    • How to design the Instagram news feed. Specifically how to update the feed in real time, how to implement pagination, how to design the API/Rest calls delivering the content to the web page.   Answer Question
