Karl Zachry (head of development) is one of the best people I've ever had the opportunity to work with. He's leading the development organization better than anyone else could, and the new opportunities are exciting.
The code base is old, and there are many employees who have been here too long. Clinging to the "old way" of doing things here is getting better, but it's still painful to work with sometimes.
Advice to Management
Don't forget to keep your current employees happy, especially since you've started hiring again. The company needs to continue to change: out with the old, in with the new.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Seismic Micro Technology (Houston, TX).
I had interviews with about 5 or 6 people, so it lasted most of the day. Mostly I talked about what I had worked on before, and I was asked C++ questions, but just the usual basic questions. I even interviewed with the owner of the company at the time, and you certainly wanted to make a good impression on him.
