  1. Procurement Officer Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Singapore
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SembCorp Marine (Singapore)

I attended a video interview for the position of procurement officer. I reckon it is basic courtesy to turn on the video for all interview, but the interviewers chose not to do it.
The entire interview felt like an interrogation. To make matters worse, the interviewers were condescending in their remarks and approach to questions as well. First, they gave an unsolicited comment that with my current salary, I would not be able to find a procurement job elsewhere (there was no salary discussion at all). Then they said verbatim, “your resume seems impressive, but after speaking with you, you don’t seem that impressive”.
The whole interview felt like it was a session to put me down, so they can feel better about themselves. To prevent further abuse, this is the first time I have ever requested for an interview to be concluded. If this is the hiring managers attitude to a stranger, I’m not sure what to expect of their treatment to their direct reports.

as above 1. are you working from home? 2. what is your experience with buying equipments?
